This extensive refurbishment and extension of a Grade II* listed country house near Tytherley revitalised the property while preserving its historic integrity. The works included the creation of a large open-plan living space, featuring a glazed lantern to bring natural light into the heart of the house. Smaller rooms have been reconfigured to accommodate new functions, with the conversion of the former garages and the addition of an orangery providing a seamless connection to the walled garden.
Further enhancements included the addition of tennis courts and a luxurious saltwater pool, as well as the restoration of a granary barn. An oak-framed garage complex was also constructed, with associated groundworks tailored to suit the estate’s practical needs. Extensive planning and listed building negotiations with Historic England and Historic Environment officers ensured that all additions complemented the building’s heritage.
