A Heritage of Quality and Care Since 1971

Millway has operated as a family-led construction company since 1971. Over time the business has grown into an established team of skilled professionals, who take great pride in delivering the finest residential and specialist projects across the South of England.

At Millway, we are known for delivering projects of the highest quality in collaboration with our clients that stand the test of time. Every project is approached with precision and a commitment to high standards, supported by a passion for building. Clients receive clear guidance throughout every stage of the process, allowing projects to progress with confidence from the beginning.

The way we work is grounded in integrity and transparency. Lasting relationships with clients and professional partners are built through mutual respect and open communication. Over the years

For more than fifty years, Millway has grown alongside its clients, partners and team, developing projects that reflect care and long-term commitment. Each stage of the company’s journey, from expanding premises to deliver award-winning work, tells a story of collaboration and shared purpose.

Pre-1970s

Building has always been part of the Taylor family story. Long before Millway was established, Stuart Taylor’s father was already working on site, instilling a strong work ethic and a deep-rooted understanding of the craft, values that would go on to shape the foundations of the business.

1970s

Millway was founded in 1970 by Stuart Taylor in his hometown of Andover. From the outset, the business was built on a commitment to quality workmanship, integrity, and a personal approach. Principles that continue to define the company today.

1980s

The next generation joined the business in the 1980s, as Stuart’s sons, Nelson and Malcolm, became part of the team. Their involvement strengthened Millway’s position as a family-run company, bringing fresh perspective while maintaining the standards and values established from the beginning.

1990s

A period of steady growth saw Millway expand its operations and relocate to larger premises at Orchard Hill. As demand continued to increase, the company moved again to Barrow Hill Barn in Over Wallop, providing the space and setting to support its growing portfolio of high-quality projects.

2000s and beyond

Entering the 21st century, Millway continued to evolve, growing its team and investing in its premises, plant, and capabilities. Recognition has followed, including Conservation Awards in 2003 and 2024, reflecting the company’s commitment to craftsmanship and care, particularly in the restoration of heritage and listed buildings.
