Victorian Schoolhouse Refurbishment

Architect:

Classic Architecture

Location:

Donhead St Andrew, Wiltshire

Project Overview

This award-winning project converted a former Victorian village school into two beautiful homes.

The original character of the building was kept at the heart of the design, creating one twobedroom and one three-bedroom home, each shaped around the features that gave the old school its identity.

New staircases with frameless glass balustrades allow natural light into the space, while original details remain wherever possible. The homes now meet modern carbon neutral energy standards, and fire safety upgrades have been built in without changing the building’s appearance.

Recognised by the Salisbury Civic Society Awards, the project shows how a heritage property can be restored to meet today’s building standards while keeping its historic character.

No problem was too small to be dealt with, which is a nice feeling. Your customer care was absolutely excellent.
