This country house near Marlborough, built in the style of a 19th-century rectory, has been fully refurbished to refresh the property, while retaining its beautiful traditional character. The refurbishment included extensive improvements across the house and outbuildings, from bespoke joinery and new stonework and tiling to kitchens and bathrooms, lighting, and decoration.
Working alongside Julia Blunt Interiors, each room was finished with its own distinctive palette of colours, textures, and wallpapers from trusted suppliers including Farrow & Ball, Little Greene, Edward Bulmer, Fenwick & Tilbrook, Sanderson, and Tess Newall.
A highlight of the interior is the children’s room, where Little Greene’s Potter’s Woodland wallpaper (inspired by Beatrix Potter) adds a playful and imaginative touch. Meanwhile the kitchen, complete with a five-door Aga, provides a warm and welcoming centre to the home.
Working with Sam Taylor and his team has been a delight. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them. Their standard of work and finish is excellent and above all the general attitude of everyone on site was always extremely helpful. Looking forward to working with Millway again as it has been excellent in every respect.
