Project Overview

This award-winning project involved the meticulous renovation and restructuring of a historic granary barn adjacent to a mill house, situated over the River Test near Whitchurch. The renovation preserved key historical elements, including a historic dovecote, while introducing modern features that enhanced the functionality and aesthetic appeal of the property. A key structural enhancement was the installation of an oak-clad steel frame, carefully integrated to support the existing roof without altering the building’s external appearance. A sliding wall was incorporated into the barn design, providing seamless access to the existing mill house. Additionally, full-height internal glazed oak-framed swing doors were installed, creating a striking entrance to the recreational barn and allowing natural light to flood the interior.

We are extremely pleased with the progress you have made, and the quality of the building. We are also very impressed by the extent to which you have been able to keep to the agreed timetable, in the very difficult circumstances, many thanks.
